Volunteer in Ecuador

OUR PROGRAM
Combine the adventure of living in Ecuador with the reward of giving your time and energy to meaningful causes. El Nomad is plugged into an extensive network of social and sustainable projects run by locals, with start and end dates to fit your schedule. We’ll match you with a local partner organization based on your interests and Spanish language skills.

OUR PROJECTS
El Nomad offers a wide array of sustainable volunteer projects. Past projects have included everything from mangrove planting on the coast to women’s advocacy at Casa de Mujeres. Because of our extensive networks and established relationships in Ecuador and the Cuenca community, we offer a wide array of sustainable volunteer projects.

These projects are available in the following fields:

  • Human Rights
  • Health Care/Medicine
  • Environmental Studies
  • Women/Children Advocacy
  • Disabilities
  • Education
  • Research
  • Non-profit Management
  • Fine Arts

If you do not see your area of interest listed here, please contact us! We are happy to create a customized program to match your interests and skills.

VOLUNTEER LIFE

You will likely live in a homestay, and may choose to enhance your experience with Spanish classes at our partner university. You’ll also have access to the El Nomad Student Center, where you can rent sports equipment, use Wi-Fi, drink coffee, and watch movies.
